bridal shower games : Does anyone have any suggestions for bridal shower games? This is ashower that will have alot of family members from the grooms side thataren't familiar with the bride. Any suggestions??I did a really fun game last year. All you need is a couple of rolls oftoilet paper. Basically you split the guests into groups. Each group"designs" a wedding dress from toilet paper. NOTHING ELSE MAY BE USED tokeep the dress in place. I did it where the bride participated, but I read about it where the bridesits back and chooses her favorite dress.
bridal shower games : I threw a bridal shower where I felt compelled to have a "game" although I knew a few guests would probably gag if they were forced to participate in anything silly.What I did was create a trivia quiz, only 10-15 questions, mostly with answers having to do with the bride and groom. Other questions had to do with love, wedding traditions, or whatever. In my case, the shower already had a "month" theme (each person brought a gift corresponding to a month of the year) so I made each answer be a month.What month did Bride & Groom meet?What month was Groom born?What month is diamond the birthstone for?Bride and Groom are headed to Hawaii after the wedding. What is Hawaii's rainiest month?Some were hard questions, other were ones the family members were sure to get. I read them all aloud and people wrote their answers down on paper. Then I read the answers out loud so people could "score" themselves. It didn't last too long, there was a lot of laughter and guessing and comments as people wrote their answers, and it was fun. I had a small gift/prize for the winner.
bridal shower games : ** I have a wedding page with a collection of ideas for small weddings, * theme weddings, and destination weddings :** *I threw a shower for about 25 people last spring and the games went oververy well. The ages at the shower ranged from 16-60. The first gamerequired talking to her fiance ahead of time and asking him things like"what did mary wear on your first date" "what was the first song you dancedto" etc. We sat the bride in the middle of the room and asked her the samequestions and revealed what her fiance said. Boy was her face red when shehad to admit her first kiss was on her mom's couch!Next she opened her presents and little did everyone know but I was takingnotes. As soon as she was done, I shooshed her out of the room and gaveeveryone paper and a pen. I then asked questions like "how many rings wasmary wearing" "who gave mary the red teddy" etc. It was a good exercise inhow much (or how little) people pay attention!
bridal shower games : The third game was a paper game I found on the internet (I have a copy ifanyone would like it) It was a list of 25 things like 4=P in a Q. Theanswer was 4=Pints in a Quart. Everyone was given a list and 10 minutes.The person who got the most right won. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it.For prizes, I put together gifts in the wedding colors like yellow m&m's ina purple container, purple and yellow lip balm, etc. I then wrapped them inthe colors and the wrapped presents added a bit of decoration.One final note (although not a game), most people were to embarrased to getin the food line first so after no one would go up, I started announcingmarriage years. Like...."anyone married before 1950 get up in line now" Itwas kind of fun to see how long people had been married and forced people toget over their embarrasment and get some food!I need some ideas for my guests to play at an upcoming bridal shower I'mhosting. Thanks for the help.At some of mine we played "Win, Lose or Draw" with all the words as weddingor more seductive themes (depends on your crowd!) It was fun!! You can playother games such as split into groups to "Dress" your bride in a toiletpaper or similar paper gown or veil.Um..I can't think of anymore I have played recently!!
bridal shower games : led me to realize that I should be putting together a baby shower for adear friend of mine. I am hosting a traditional women/girls only showerand could use some fresh ideas for games/other fun things to do becausethis is going to be a somewhat stressful event filled with grumpyrelatives. So *please* toss me some good ideas .... my friend isanxious enough about having a baby; I don't want to make things worse!Not to sound strange or anything...but I see these posts all the time withpeople asking about bridal shower games and baby shower games, and I don'tunderstand??? I've never in my life been to ANY bridal or baby showere whereany 'games' have been played (other than the bride to be trying not to breakthe ribbons on the gifts, and the maid of honor making a silly hat with theribbons & bows). Am I living in a parallel universe or is this a regionalthing in some part of the country other than Connecticut or what??When I go to showers, we usually socialize, eat and open gifts and socializesome more. There wouldn't be time to play games.Besides, most of the 'games' I've heard about online seem downrightembarassing to me. Am I the only one that thinks this?
