I got my wedding dress in 8 weeks and I wasso thrilled. They were very helpful and made purchasing my gown very easy.I was leary about ordering over the net, but I'll recommend them to anyone.Thanks to everyone who responded to my post. I actually ordered my dresstoday, from Jinny's Bridal in Huntington Beach. The staff was very helpfuland friendly and their prices were great. I ordered the exact dress Iwanted (exact color and size) -- retail price was $785 and my cost atJinny's was $588! In addition, Jinny custom makes all her veils! Thanksagain to FireCat for her recommendation!I also talked with Gowns Online and they were extremely helpful. I had thesame fear about ordering over the internet, and since I found a comparableprice at a store by me I ordered it from home. However, if I hadn't I wouldhave ordered form Gowns Online. discount wedding gowns : Does anyone have any suggestions for this? I have heard about that Filene'sBasement sale, and I cannot figure out when they have it. Also, any otherideas??Sarah, the main Filene's (off Park Street T) has the sale about 4x a year. I went to one in March and another in November. Call their main line and if it isn't on the recording, ask to speak to someone who can give you the dates. Most employees know about it far in advance. You are not too likely though to get anything at the sale. It was so brutal both times. Girls were fighting, scratching, hitting, jumping on each other to grab as many as they could. You've seen Public Television where the sharks go into a feeding frenzy? Very close. There were a few gorgeous gowns, but most were torn, dirty and in sad states. If I were you I would check out some of the consignment shops either in Chestnut Hill or out towards BC. Good luckI actually attended the sale at Filenes Basement, but I went in theafternoon when all the dresses where back on the rack and no one was around to wrestle with. I was successfull in my hunt, but noteveryone is. I will definately need to get is clean and altered a little, but for the price it is well worth it.
discount wedding gowns : I just found a great bargain for bridesmaid dresses and I thought that I would share what I found. I went to the Gunne Sax Outlet (JessicaMcClintock) in San Francisco (CA). 634 2nd Street (415) 495-7971. (Theyalso had another location at 35 Stanford in SF (415) 495-3326). I firstchecked out their Bridesmaid dresses section and was dismayed to not beable to find matching dresses in 5/6, 9/10 and 13/14. (13/14 wasespecially hard to find since they seem to believe almost everyone is5/6!) Those dresses were about $100 each.I was dismayed and about to give up I went to their prom dress racks. What a selection and bargains! I found a beautiful white and gold satindress for $50!! Once I found something in 13/14 that I liked I was themable to find matching dresses in 5/6 and 9/10. I got 3 bridesmaiddresses for $150 and they were Jessica McClintock (and beautiful)!! Ithen went to the little girls section and found a matching flower girl'sdress (same material) for $60. So it was $210 for everything! (I can'tbelieve that I paid more for the flower girl dress than I did for thebridesmaid dress!)
discount wedding gowns : They also had some wedding gowns there. However, they really didn'thave too many gowns in my size 15/16 (Sob!) The prices were nice though($99-400). Some were in good condition and some needed a little sewing(which I would have gladly done for $99!) However, if you are a 5/6 to9/10 you are in luck!
