wedding guest book : Got to . Click on Shopping, then on Albums (onceyou're in the store). Choose any Pioneer album (post-bound, like youwant). They also sell refills, and many other materials you mightdesire.It's a great idea! However, If you are planning on doing a memory book foryour wedding, you will really want to research what type of album you wantto buy first. A poorly constructed one can bring misery after all your hardwork in designing and assembling it. My daughter's first baby memory albumwas a Pioneer that fell to pieces withing 18 months, and had lousy pageprotectors. Go first class for something you'd like as a family heirloom,even if you don't buy the album right away... you don't need to.What I suggest, and what I actually did for my wedding, was to have precutpieces of acid- and lignin-free paper, (I did 5x5), so that you can latermount them in any fashion in your album. It's a big enough size that peoplecan write a fair bit, but also not feel intimidated or "put on the spot".You can then put them all together in the album, or space them out besidepictures of the guests who wrote on them. I could always scan and send youa copy of the layout we used in our album, if you like!

Wehad set up a little booth-type table in the reception area, with a framedsign explaining what to do, and it was virtually ignore. My MOH spend theevening chasing people down with those papers and her pretty jar of pens toget them to fill them out! LOL! wedding guest book : Unless you really like to decorate with "sentimental" items, there isprobably a drawer in your guestbook's future. But I'll toss out a coupleof ideas that might at least be more fun than the standard white-paddedbook.We bought one of the acid-free scrapbooks like Rebecca describes, butwith white pages so it didn't require special pens. The first three orfour pages were signed by the guests (and they did write more than theusual name-and-congratulations) and the remainder will be our photoalbum (I still haven't gotten around to putting photos in it). We had a50% off coupon at Michael's, so our album cost a whole $8. We liked thecover on it, but it's easy to cover one with fabric suited to yourwedding theme or decor if you don't. It still logs drawer time, but atleast there's more reason to pull it out than with your typicalguestbook.One of our friends has guests write a message in a little book on everyvisit, as a memento of the parties they've had. You could get one of thelittle diary books (the pretty kind of blank bound book that bookstorescarry), use it for your wedding guestbook, and then keep using it atparties afterwards. The first volume would then reflect all of theentertaining of your first couple years of married life; that might getreread more later.
wedding guest book : Is there something you *do* collect and display that is not harmed bybeing signed? Martha Stewart had, a month or two ago, a display of oldhandkerchiefs framed over a hall table, and I was thinking that awedding-y white one (not an antique in this case) signed in fabric penmight fit in nicely with such a display while being a way to display aguestbook.We are using a book that was designed as a wedding guest book or memorybook, but instead of having a place for name and address or whatever,this one just has blank lines. The book itself is pretty, with parts ofthe traditional wedding vows in gold as a background on the cover andinside covers, written in script. Then on each page there are differentgeneric wedding theme pictures, such as a chair with a flowerarrangement on the back, etc. I saw the book in a store for somethinglike $25 but that was more than I wanted to pay for something small likethe guest book. I later found the same book on ebay for something like$15 and bought it there.Anyway, to answer your question, we are going to have our guests writemessages to us in the book rather than just signing a name. These canbe messages of advice, words wishing us well, etc., a few lines perperson. We felt that this would be more meaningful than a book withnames and addresses. We will probably keep it with our wedding album(s)after the wedding so that we can enjoy the words of our loved ones overand over again, and others can read them when they look at our pictures.
