wedding planners : This is not anything against ppl who put out wedding planners, I justthink they are one waste of money and impactical when you can get thesame information condensed in a wedding magazine and transfer it tofit your needs.I just bought a 3-ring binder, made a table of contents, and placed notepaper and transparent data holders in each section. I also had onezippered compartment in the front for smaller samples or pieces.I dragged (drug?) this book around everywhere with me for 8 months. Itcame in handy more times that I can count. Also, with Mark & I indifferent cities and the wedding in still a 3rd city, I was neverwithout info that I needed.You can definitely make copies or tear out anything that you like andwant to keep in the book.I did the same thing. It was great. As the first page I had myschedule for the wedding day (wedding time, receiption time). It amazedme how many times I forgot this information. The next page was my to-dolist. Best of all, I always had the information with me. When I neededto know how long the isle was, I did need to say I'd get back with thembecause I had the church contract with me. I always had pics of thebridesmaids dresses (and one of mine hidden so Joe couldn't find it).
wedding planners : I agree. I did the exact same thing, and had categories for each possiblething related to my wedding--from attire and ceremony music, to alcohol andgifts. It has really saved my life.\JenLook into getting a Wedding Consultant........they are very helpful!I'm surprised at all of you three-ring binder people! We boughtthe "My Wedding Companion" software. Yes, we still have copiesof our contracts, etc (which I *have* to get all organized thisweek!) but in general, I think software is the way to go. It'sjust so much easier...When you get right down to it, how much paper do you *really*need? I mean, you don't *have* to keep estimates from all thoseplaces you didn't choose...I have a big green basket that contains all my wedding stuff at thispoint. Everything from the reception site contract to invitation catalogsto the earrings I"m going to give my MOH. wedding planners : Do any of you remember a couple of weeks ago, when someone posted threecomputer wedding planners? wedding planners : I bought a wedding planner at Barnes and Nobles for about 15$ (US) It wasa white ring style and had flowers on the front..They sell it atVictoria's Secrets!! I undid the binding and made my own dividers and puteverything into a 2in. binder...I just made the dividers by printing outclip art for each thing...anyway- be sure to get one that gives youchecklist and questions to ask section in each chapter..mine does and ithas been soooo handy..especially when dealing with photographers and cakepeople...i wouldn't have known what to ask otherwise!!-Kirsten finally marrying Andrew January 6, 1999 after 2 yrs. ofengagement!!!!!--Hey again, Dawn. Hang around us long enough and you'll haveplenty to put in it. :>I don't have a wedding planner book (which you can find in any bookstore, btw). I looked at many different wedding planners but couldn't decide which one to buy. Each planner had certain features that I liked, but not one contained all the features/sheets I wanted. So...I bought one of those accordion files, labeled the folders with headings like "caterer", "invitations", etc. I either copied worksheets from the planner or created worksheets of my own (modeled after some of planners I liked) and inserted them into each folder. This is fairly inexpensive...and I get to personalize all of my worksheets.
