wedding programs : The Wedding Program is far from being some Playbill. It let peopleknow who was who at our wedding (eg. my sister as MOH, friends asother members of our wedding party) and also it let people know whento say "we do" and who was doing what. My family (aunts, uncles,cousins) don't know Steve's family and it gives them a chance to seewho they are. Also it let people know who we felt about themattending our wedding since it gave us a chance in writing to telleveryone we wanted to thank them for making our day special. Ourminister also liked to do things in a slightly different order(declare our intent, his message, then our vows etc.)I have been going to weddings for 14 years and there have always beenprograms. I have only been to one wedding where they did not haveprograms and I was completely lost during the ceremony (guests were tosay all these things and I had no clue what to say and do and I WAS atthe rehersal). It is not a matter of showyness, but a matter ofletting people know what is going on.
wedding programs : Does anyone know where to find colored paper for wedding programs? I'mlooking for the kind that has a printed design on half of an 8.5"x11"sheet of paper, so that when you fold the paper in half along the shortdimension, the design looks like a cover.I know there's a "Christian Art" company that has this stuff, but thedesigns are fairly dark and already have words on them. I'd prefersomething that's just a border or a pastel background, so we can add ourown title, names, date, etc. to the cover.Any advice would be much appreciated! I've checked local stationerystores with no luck and the wedding is approaching!We're doing our own wedding programs and I have been looking for paper,too. Try Office Depot if you have one in your area. I found severaltypes with pretty borders or subtle background pictures. The Paper Direct catalog has a lot of paper like that, both one fold andtwo fold(3 panel) designs. They're phone # is 1-800-272-7377 to order acatalog. They send it really fast...I got mine in less than a week whenI ordered it.

wedding programs : I was wondering if anyone had used any wedding planning programs for the computer and if they were pleased or not with it. I would like to get one, but wanted some feedback first.Thanks for any info or feedback!We looked at several wedding programs and decide we didn't like any ofthem.We ended up using ClarisWorks (on a Mac). We created our own databasewith everything we could possibly think of regarding the guest list. (Names, addresses, phone numbers, & Guest or not, # invited, expectedand actually attending, a space for gift info, and thank you checkboxes...) We were able to set up envelopes and print them with the mailmerge feature. Additionally, in December, (after our wedding), when wewould be throwing away most of the wedding programs, we will be able toprint up the envelopes for our x-mas cards. (Additionally, it's not tooexpensive, as they give competitive upgrades if you own almost anything- wordprocessing, spreadsheet, database, graphics, etc. software.)Also, we have been using a calandar program, Now Up To Date, to keeptrack of appointments and due dates.-- **************************************** *****************To reply, remove the '!'s from my address:

My latestgripe is that on the guest screens you can indicate whether the guestis invited to separate events, such as the bridal shower. It evengives you a separate field in which to put that person's name... forexample, the wedding invitation may be addressed to Mr and Mrs JohnDoe, but you can put Jane Doe on the shower line. Well, I printed areport of the people I would like to have at my shower, and what doesit print? The special name? No, the regular name. Maybe there is away around this and I just was too dense to find it, but I couldn'tfigure it out.
