wedding shoes : Like Stefani, I also planned on getting some keds. But, my family reactedthe same way.Although I do agree with most of you in that you have to have good shoes for"feet health," my feet are already messed up. Years of dancing (ballet, jazz) will do that to you. In fact, I was surprized that those walmartshoes were even more comfortable than some of the most expensive ones I own.Plus, I know myself, and I knew that I'd kick off those shoes & dance thenight away. And I did...lost the shoes maybe 1-2 hrs. into the reception.JMO, but I think some people just make too big of a deal out of "it's ourwedding day." Yes, it's nice to splurge on some things, but do you reallywant a pair of $100 shoes that you'll never wear again. (with the exceptionof those who *must* buy them for comfort, etc.) I don't know abouteverybody else, but Shawn & I could find *lots* to do with an extra $100 :-)You're not going to believe how lucky I was with this situation. Wewere at the Seattle Goodwill looking for an old iron (to use on snowboard wax) and I stopped to glance at the women's shoes. I found a pairof really nice, modern, just-what-I-was-looking-for, Nina shoes for$4!!! Just took some Woolite and an old toothbrush to them and theylook practically new! They fit perfect, are already "broken in" and ifanyone complains that they don't look brand new, then they are just tooclose to my feet for comfort! It just goes to show that you should keepyour eyes open.

wedding shoes : I got Dr Scholls white leather loafers. $ 25 at an all night grocery -huge walmart type place call Meijers. Get regular white summer shoes ifyou still can I hear the "wedding shoes" are really unpleasent. SueI got silver flats with a wedge heel (~1") so that I won't sinkslowly into the lawn as we read our vows (I'm short enough already!).They're very comfortable and look good too (I have an ankle-lengthdress). I wouldn't worry about how the shoes look if you have a longdress and are certain that nobody will see them; comfort is moreimportant, IMHO. But, as someone mentioned a few weeks ago: the"regular" white/off-white shoes are fast disappearing from stores asfall colors and styles come in, so if you're planning to wear whiteor light-colored non-wedding shoes, you might look now. Not to mentionthat summer shoes are on sale! Many a bride here has bought her shoes at Payless or another inexpensiveshoe store. That's smart, especially if you don't think you'll wear themagain. I found mine at a shoe sample shop for $10. I decided comfort was key, so I went with a pair of cream-colored leather(yes, leather! not fabric! The bridal police will have a fit!) flats. They're very comfy and they fit well -- nearly impossible when you havesize 10.5 narrow feet. I plan to make a satin bow or rosette of somekind from the same fabric I'm using for my headpiece to clip onto them inorder to make them feel more "wedding-y". I decided against fabric shoesbecause all the ones I found seemed dreadfully stiff when I tried themon, or they had heels that I couldn't fathom wearing for ten minutes, letalone for hours on one of the most enjoyable days of my life. I foundthe shoes on sale for half price ($23), and if I want to, I can wear themagain after the wedding.

wedding shoes : -------------------==== Posted via Deja News ====----------------------- Search, Read, Post to UsenetI had never heard that fabric shoes were a *must* at a wedding. thenagain, I live in California. :^) So I got some terrific leather shoes, about 1.5" heel, in a lovely bone color. Originally priced at $72. The shop was going out of business, so I got them for $18. And they're *comfy*.Yup, although my chances of wearing bone shoes again are pretty much non-existent. <grin> But at $18, I'm not sweatin' it.One other suggestion, especially for those of you in the "I want towear a heel, but I want to be able to dance" camp:These are shoes made for dancers, and they have a style *very* muchlike a standard pump. Heel height can be 1" - 2", depending onpreference. Non-skid soles. AND THEY COME WITH A STRAP FOR THE INSTEP.These are the shoes my MOH wanted for her ensemble, so we visitedthe local Capezio store. Cost was $52. And they look real spiffy.Sandi (& Dave)11/3/97 (a Monday, and under 3 months to go!)I bought ivory leather pumps at Nordstrom. Low heeled, with really coolcriss-crossing triple straps across the top.

wedding shoes : I wore them once before the wedding and have worn them several timesafter. They're still comfortable. Well, not as comfortable as myReeboks, maybe, but for dress shoes they're great.I once owned white fabric shoes that I wore to a few weddings as a guest. The last time I wore them, to an outdoor reception, they were ruined bythe grass stains -- which the shoe repair place and the dry cleaner toldme there was no way to remove. Fortunately, those were cheap shoes -- butfor my wedding, if I was gonna buy expensive shoes, they were gonna bemultipurpose and last a long time. Especially given that, if you'rewearing a full-length skirt with big petticoats, who's going to noticeyour shoes anyway?BTW, I found a really cute pair of shoes for my flower girl on sale atTarget. Six bucks. They were little ivory flats with criss-crossingelastic straps across the top. She absolutely LOVED the fact that hershoes were so much like mine. ("Mommy, my shoes have wires just likeHolly's!")I got some really cute strappy heels at Mervyn's for fifteen bucks and Isewed some pearly lace to the top of the two straps at the toe. They wereprobably the cheapest thing in my wedding.

wedding shoes : Oh God, please take note that I passed up such an EASY opening...I had a really hard time finding nice looking, comfortable leatherflats. I ended up ordering 2 different pair out of the JC Penneycatalog. 1 pair was just perfect! I clipped a bow made out of tiny pearls on each shoe. When I was a bridesmaid required to wear dyable shoes, I found a really flat style at Kinney. They had a pointy-yet-squared-off toe, and a VERY small heel (probably 1/4 inch, so it was a flat). I was comfortable all night and was the only bridesmaid who didn't kick off her shoes to end the torture on her feet at the reception.I'll probably buy the same ones for my wedding. They are about $30 and are a shiny dyable satin. They were good for my feet (wide enough to need WIDE width shoes, but with a heel so narrow that wide-width shoes slip too much).j anderson wrote in articleI wanted to wear white running shoes (it's a long dress no one would see, &I would be comfortable all day) but my fiancée won't let me so I have founda pair of ivory "Tender Tootsies" with a 2 inch heel
