More fun was arranging Pachelbel's Canon for 12 string and6 string-- and it was well enough received that we were asked to play itagain for a graduation ceremony for alomost 1,000 people two dayslater. At MY wedding last year I had friends play an arrangement of the thememusic from "A River Runs Through It" for the processional. We usedCrosby, Stills, and Nash's "Helplessly Hoping" as an interlude, andfinished with Kenny Loggins' and Jim Messina's "House at Pooh Corner" asthe recessional. Our wedding was somewhat quirky though, and yourmileage may vary.Personally, I prefer the sound of two contrasting guitars w/out vocals(unless you can find a GREAT vocalist-- we got lucky). I've always usedsix and twelve, but have heard steel/nylon done as well. You might lookinto Acoustic Alchemy recordings for ideas BTW. I'd suggest trying thecanon-- everyone will recognize it and it doesn't cary the burden of alot of associated lyrics to distract people.
wedding songs : Well, I counted, and there were a grand total of 7 songs on this list thatI would even allow to be played at my wedding. The rest would have surelymade a "Do Not Play Under Penalty of Death" list for me!! Just goes to show how different people's tastes in music can be. Re: the dj getting a clue. Most DJ's are fantastic.
