wedding supplies : *************************************Yna ra*************************************Don't turn green. If you have a Michaels nearby, it is the same. Theonly diff is that HL sells fabric. How can we contact Hobby Lobby to ask for a store to open in our area?Frank's no longer sells most crafts and Michael's is our only alternativefor non-needlework craft supplies. After the rotten service at Michael'sI'd rather drive 200 miles up north to Arnie's before I'd consider givingmy money to Michael's again. Deb WiseThey have a bunch of new stores opening in 1999 also be sure to check underthat area also.I walked into my Franks' the other day and saw they cleaned out all theirneedlework stuff. They had some clearence items but not much worth anything.ShariReady to Start: TW Birdhouse Bellpull Currently Stitching: Madeline, GWTW BBQ DressUFO: Holiday Cardnial Bow Tie Finished in 1998: Aspiring Gardner by Sandi Gore Evans & Submarine Verse ofNaval HymnI disagree. We have a Michaels here also and HL has them by milesw/selections. DH just hates going into Micheals (calls it more a "ladies"store) but in HL he took off. I didn't see him for some time. He went andcheck out the woodworking stuff, models, trains, ect. He can't wait to go backeither.Plus, if you were doing your own wedding, geesh! this HL had slues of stuff tohelp you do flowers and all kinds of wedding stuff. Our Micheals has some butnot the same.
wedding supplies : ShariReady to Start: TW Birdhouse Bellpull Currently Stitching: Madeline, GWTW BBQ DressUFO: Holiday Cardnial Bow Tie Finished in 1998: Aspiring Gardner by Sandi Gore Evans & Submarine Verse ofNaval HymnI've got access to Michaels and even a few others of that type and Imust say our Hobby Lobby is way better. Wedding supplies werementioned and I really got a deal on them the other week. Hobby Lobbyhas an internet coupon that you can get from the website or subscribeto and get by email. Two weeks ago it was a buy one get one for apenny on all packaged wedding supplies. I spent over $80 and filled acart. My daughter's wedding is next August and I'm doing all theflowers, etc.Hobby Lobby here also rents wedding items like archways, pillars, candelabras, and even floral arrangements. All were very decentprices and looked pretty good. Hobby Lobby has more needlearts supplies than our local Michaels. OurJoanns is okay but they have branched out 'way too far. I don't knowwhy anyone would shop a fabric store for toys, candy and cheap kitchensupplies. If they got rid of all non craft stuff, we'd have way more"good" stuff. Moni wedding supplies : Hello everybody, In June 2002 (yeah, I know that seems like a long time away) I willbe getting married. My fiance is still in college and wont graduateuntil May 2002. Because of that, I will be responisable for most of thecosts for the wedding/ reception/ honey moon. Right now I work one job, but the hours are weird (6-9 &2-6) so Iwont be able to get a second job until summer (hours change). Sobasically money is going to be TIGHT. Does anybody know how I can getwedding stuff for cheap? Afterall, I'm only planning on using the stuffonce.I just want to point out that IT'S NOT a long time away. Last year, Icouldn't believe we had to wait like 17 months until our site wasavailable, and here it is six months away and it's like, wait, where'd thepast year go???? A longer engagement allows you to pace yourself more, and it also allows you more preparation for people who would come in fromout of town -- check out hotels, etc. and get them the information.I don't think 2002 is a long way away at all.. We're not gettingmarried until 2004, and that is for the same reason as yourself... wedon't want to spend a whole lot of money on a wedding, so I am goingto be making most everything (except for my dress). Everything fromarrangements, favours, my cake, my hors d'oeuvres (sp?), etc... thisway if I can get all my favors, my veil/headpiece made this year, andnext year decide on my menu and cake style (as simple as possible, yetpretty), the last year will be reserved for touch-ups, and then thenitty gritty in the last couple weeks... I am going to have a blastover the next few years, I am so excited!! wedding supplies : I really think that the word wedding means "license to charge through thenose!"I really wanted to do stuff myself, but opted for doing half of it. I tooka chocolate making course and will make all the chocolates. I am making myown bouquets, at the advice of someone else (forget the name sorry) who isbuying flowers at the market and making nosegays. Flowers are so expensiveit chokes me up! We found a home based florist, and she was not expensivein comparaison to the one I visited..Home based businesses seem to be a hidden gem too- my cake will be about$120 for 150 people- (better than $500 at the bakery) it will be made by alady who makes cakes out of her home. There are probably people in yourarea who do this too. The person who did the chocolate course said thatchocloate is HUGE in home based businesses, and pretty cheap.I think you can have a beautiful wedding by making your own things!! Thebridal fairs are a good resource too.Believe me, its not too long till your wedding. When my DD became engaged ayear and a half ago they announced that the wedding would be June 2001. Ithought "Oh my Godness, that is so far away!" I think now it was a blessing.Gave me time to save and plan a wedding I think she will always treasure.Like your fiancée she too will graduate college in May (and marry in June). This has left the planning up to me!!! And I have loved every (almost)minute of it.A few $$ tips...... Start thinking of what kind of gown you want. Theless-pricier gowns are just as nice as the expensive ones. We looked formonths and found a very reasonable one. Ordered 8 months before the wedding.Giving time to make the deposit then having the remainder 4 months laterwhen the gown comes in. If you have any craft-talents, put them to work. Ido, thankfully. I will be doing her flowers. Found a VERY reasonable site onthe internet to order flowers (all roses) ( they do carry others but have a"wedding package"). Order invitations through catalogs. We saved a bundlethere. Making all they favors and place cards. All decorations for thechurch too.Honestly, you can do a beautiful wedding very reasonably. You have the timeto research, research, research!!!!Any help, any suggestions, I would be happy to give you some. Feel free toe-mail me. After almost 2 years of planning for this, I feel like a "Pro"!!!Good Luck!"devil child" wrote in message... wedding supplies : Does anyone know of an online or mail order company that sells weddingsupplies (favors, cameras, bubbles, invitation stock only, etc...) atdiscount or wholesale costs? I'm on a very tight budget and would love tocut corners anywhere possible, Thanks.-----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your OwnI don't know about online, but try craft stores like Michael's or MJ Design. You can usually find bubbles in large boxes of 100 for about half the priceas invitation catalogs. You can also find cheap decorations, ring pillows, toasting glasses, guest books, garters and the list goes on. You may just besurprised at what you can find there. Another good source is Party City (ifyou have those). They carry a lot of wedding supplies also. Invitation stockmay be hard to come across in these places, though.I second the opinion of party city, if you have one near you. *Watch forSales*!!!I'd hate to sound cheap, but in the past 4 months or so, I've gottencocktail naps 50/.69 cents, dessert plates 24/.99 cents, plastic forks fordessert 24/.49 cents, streamers for balloons & to tie my scrolls 1500 ft/.99 cents.
