Weare having a wedding in a chapel (Santa Ana) and a reception in arestaurant (Westminster). The area around the chapel is not sopicturesque and I would like a pretty outdoor scene. I'm thinking parksor sites with interesting architecture. A public place would be best. Can you help?Two suggestions come to mind that you might want to check out that are closefor you. One is The Discovery Museum in Santa Ana and the other is the oldCounty Court House, also in Santa Ana. Both have nice grounds and the CourtHouse has a beautiful interior, including a marvelous staircase.I have not photographed at either location but my associate Marcie has done awedding at The Discovery Museum and I have visited the Court House, not forlegal reasons, but for research. wedding venues : Sorry it took me a few days to respond but I have been out of town with twoweddings in a row. We were married last summer in a park in Tustin under a big beautifultree. We had been looking at other places and one of them was thegazebo on the lake in the Woodbridge area of Irvine (off Barrancabetween Culver and Jeffrey. We weren't able to rent it because wedidnt' live in their association area, but I did see a wedding there.The Waverly Chapel (part of a cemetery on Fairview in Santa Ana) is abeautiful stone church with stained glass windows, very picturesque.My pleasure. I can put youin touch with my clients who were married there if it would help you withdetails.we are getting married in santa barbara and went throughlots of time and trouble to find the "perfect" spot. i donthave info on anything in orange county, but from santamonica north to santa barbara i've got a whole file of infoand visited most of them....Your best bet is to have the wedding in a public park and have thereception in a friend or relative's backyard.
wedding venues : In Laguna Beach, Crescent Bay Park is available if you contact thetown and reserve the park in advance. I don't think there is a fee.If you have a sunny day you should get stunning photos (and if youhire a professional photographer.) We recently did a wedding there andthe customer was very happy with the result.Another suggestion for a wedding/reception venue is El Adobe in SanJuan Capistrano. They have small outdoor chapel area and cost perperson for dinner is reasonable - among the most reasonable in OrangeCounty.My wife and I were on a very tight budget also. But we had a beautifulwedding at Franklin Canyon Park. It is up where Coldwater Canyon meetsMulholland, accross from the Tree People. Right between Sherman Oaks, andBeverly Hills. I think we paid $300 for all day. (which is great if youlook around) They were very nice up there and willing to help us outanyway, and there are plenty of places to set up. There is an outdooramphitheatre, with sound hookups already there, and that sat about 300, andthere are other park areas to set up according to your taste. I wouldsuggest not doing it August 2nd like we did, as that was the hottest day of1997. A couple of weeks after it cooled down a lot. ;)

wedding venues : Actually no you couldn't get married on Ben Nevis according to *English* lawbecause the ceremony must be conducted indoors. eg. its possible to get married on a boat, as long as the actual ceremony is below deck.I think this is to avoid a rush of outdoor weddings that are held anywhereand everywhere in the US - but I'm not sure!I think if you wanted to get married under English law you couldn't do iton Ben Nevis anyway, even in a shack, because Ben Nevis would come underScottish jurisdiction.
